Use Airplay to Connect an iPhone to a Samsung TV

You can connect your iPhone to Samsung TVs that support Airplay 2, including models from 2018 and later.

Make sure that both the iPhone and TV are on the same Wi-Fi connection. Check that you’ve enabled Airplay on your iPhone. Open the app from which you want to stream. Tap the Airplay icon. In some apps, such as Photos, you need to tap the Share icon first.

Use a Lightning Digital AV Adapter to Screen Mirror

This is one of the easier options, but you will need to buy or acquire a specific adapter from Apple for it to work. The Lightning Digital AV Adapter can be found for around $49.00 and works with most iOS devices, including iPhones and iPads. You will need to have an extra HDMI cable ready to use, as it will be used to physically link your iPhone to your Samsung TV.

Connect the AV Adapter to your iPhone. Connect the HDMI cable to the AV Adapter. You will see the port on the adapter where the HDMI cable needs to be plugged into.   Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the Samsung TV. Set the source on the Samsung TV to the input you connected the HDMI cable to. You should now see your iPhone’s screen mirrored on your Samsung TV.

Use the Samsung SmartView App to Connect

If you prefer a wireless solution for connecting your iPhone to your Samsung Smart TV, some apps can help.

The Samsung SmartView app is a free app you can install on your phone to allow screen mirroring to your smart TV.

Here’s how:

Make sure that both the iPhone and TV are on the same Wi-Fi connection. Launch the Samsung SmartView app. It will ask you to enter the code that appears on your Samsung Smart TV screen. Enter the pin, and the device should automatically connect to your TV.

Other Apps With Mirroring Capabilities

Some apps like YouTube have their own way of mirroring the iPhone screen to your TV. Then you can watch your favorite YouTube videos right on your TV instead of the small screen on your phone.
