How to Connect Spotify With Discord on a PC
Integrating your Spotify account with Discord on a PC is easy. The process is more or less the same for both the Discord desktop client and the web version.
To begin, log in to Discord and click the User Settings option (the cog icon) next to your username, located at the bottom-left corner.
Then, switch to the Connections tab. From the list of apps, click the Spotify logo to continue. A browser window will open and you’ll be asked to log in to your Spotify account. Enter the credentials and hit Log In to proceed. You can even use your Google or Facebook account to log in.
After authentication, Spotify will list the information Discord will be able to access once you approve the integration. If you’re fine with it, click Agree. Once done, you can head back to Discord to find your Spotify account linked.
At first glance, you can see two toggle buttons with the label “Display on profile” and “Display Spotify as your status”. The former will display a link to your Spotify account on your Discord profile and the latter will add the “Listening to Spotify” section to your profile. Modify the options according to your preferences.
Disconnect Spotify From Discord on a PC
To disconnect your Spotify account from Discord, all you need to do is go to the Connections section and click the cross icon (X) next to Spotify. Discord will confirm if you want to remove the app integration. If you’re sure about your decision, click Disconnect to proceed.
Connect Spotify With Discord Using the Smartphone App
If you don’t use Discord on your desktop, don’t worry as Discord allows you to connect your Spotify account with the mobile app as well. Here’s how to do it:
Using the bottom menu bar, tap on your profile picture (located on the extreme right). Tap Connections and select Add from the top-right corner. From the list of available options, choose Spotify and open the link with a web browser. If you’re already logged in to Spotify, Discord will establish the connection in mere seconds. If not, you’ll have to sign in to your account. Similar to the desktop version, you’ll find two different settings to display the Spotify account and your Spotify activity on your profile.
Removing the Discord-Spotify App Integration
To disconnect Spotify and Discord using the smartphone app, tap the Cross icon next to the Spotify integration listing and select Disconnect.
To change the Spotify account connected to Discord, all you need to do is remove the existing integration and create a new one with another account.
